Anika, Jona, Shervin, and I spent a week 2km up in the Austrian Alps at Kühtai. We stayed in a small mountain cabin (Mittergrathütte) nearby the resort with a steep trail to walk up/sled down, plenty of snowshoes, and a private cable car for our gear.
The weather was snowy for the first few days which brought nice fresh snow and sunny the rest. I haven't skiied since I was a kid, but Anika is a good teacher and I was caught up quickly. Here are some videos to prove it: Anika, Dan

Tim, Jayme, David and I went on a 2 day mountaineering trip to the 8th highest peak in the Alps, Hoher Dachstein. We started at the Vorderer Gosausee and ascended 2 km to the Adamekhütte where we ate some great food and spent the night. At 6:30 the next morning we walked up the snowfield and Gossau glacier, tackled the east ridge via ferrata and summited at 10:30. By 1:30pm we were drinking beer and listening to an Austrian mountain band at another hut on the west side of the peak and by 7:30 pm we were back in Linz.

My workplace, Ars Electronica, built a float for the Carnival (Mardi Gras, etc) parade in Linz. The float is a giant electro-prodded brain and we are mad scientists controlling it. I setup the sound gear and played a ton of music and we had some interactive performances courtesy of Pierre and Kikke.

I visited Zurich, Switzerland to play the Digital Arts Week 2007 festival performance night 1: Cabled Madness and the Cabaret Voltaire on July 11th, 07. I did the robotcowboy thing with the following performers: Digitalized at Your Service by Valerie Bugmann (COL) & Tinlun Chan (CAN): "A group of well-trained messengers act as communication interfaces for the reception and transmission of messages; their bodies materialize the information that is digitalized in them by using touch in the form of Morse Code." ... and Josh Rosenstock's Sound Parasite: "These portable, wearable sound robots/soft sculptures are designed to feed off the verbal energy of sound-emitting hosts, disrupting their sonic integrity but providing a annoyingly/amusingly glitched remix of the original sound material."
